William A. Garvey VFW Post 8203
A welcoming home for veterans, families, and friends in North Port, dedicated to service, camaraderie, and our community.
VFW Post 8203 is a veterans organization serving North Port and the surrounding area. Our members have served overseas in harm’s way and now continue that service here at home by supporting fellow veterans, their families, and our community. At our Post home you will find a warm welcome, a listening ear, and a place to connect with those who understand military life.

We honor the fallen, support the living, and work side by side with local partners to make a difference every day.

Category Post News Date 20/09/26 Read time 3 minutes
A welcoming message from the Post Commander sharing our mission, values, and focus for the year ahead.
VFW Post 8203 is more than a meeting place – it is a family-friendly community. Spouses, children, relatives, and friends are welcome at many of our activities, and we regularly partner with schools, civic groups, and local businesses to serve North Port together.

Whether you are attending a dinner, helping with a service project, or just stopping by to say hello, you will find a respectful, supportive, and down-to-earth atmosphere where everyone is valued.
If you are a United States citizen who has served honorably in the Armed Forces and have qualifying overseas service in a war, campaign, or expedition, you may be eligible to join the Veterans of Foreign Wars. We also welcome transfers from other VFW Posts.

Not sure if you qualify? Stop by the Post with your discharge paperwork, give us a call, or send an email and we will gladly walk you through the process and help you determine eligibility.
Your support helps us assist veterans in need, honor our fallen, and strengthen our community. There are several meaningful ways to stand with VFW Post 8203:
  • Donate in person at the Post (cash or check)
